It has been so long. This blog has been neglected. I am so sorry.
Let me update you on life.
Zaeda is almost three! ( coming up so soon on June 22nd!) She has entered a difficult phase of independence. I didn’t think that the independent phase could get any more independent than it already had. I was wrong. She is growing in amazing ways though, and can be seriously sweet as well as sassy and strong willed.
Elizabeth is doing really well too. She spends Thursdays and weekends with us every week. Our adoption committee meets on May 27th and we will know then if her adoption has been approved by the Department of Human Services. She will move in with us full time the first week of June. Craziness. It has been so long in the making.
Matthea is growing strong. We are getting our home all set up to have another little baby. The end of August will roll around so soon. I cannot wait! I feel better some days now so I am able to get some things done. However, the sickness still hits every night and morning. Yuck. All I can say is that Im glad I know such an amazing little kiddo will come from all the sickness. It gets me through.
Mike’s away this week at a church conference in Frisco, Texas. All his girls, including me, miss him really badly. I am glad he gets to go to this conference though, he gets to meet some cool people, hang with some of his best pals and come back with great ideas and a little refreshed from his intense work schedule. Oh yeah. he also gets to experience big Texas weather… rain, wind and when he was supposed to be landing in Dallas fort worth I noticed that there were tornado watches ALL AROUND that area. How fun.

I saw this on YouTube and had to share.
Whoop whoop. Yep. We finally got Fios at our house! It is so amazing and we have been wanting it for so long!
Pretty amazing, since every time we have called Verizon to ask if we could get it in the area they say “well it looks like you should be able to….” and then they look further in their little computer of amazingness and find ” ohhh.. no you can’t get it yet- it just says you can on our website!” HAHAHA. Not so funny.
Ok… now on to the real news!
We haven’t shared much of what we got over the holidays, so we wanted to share with everyone what the best present that we got was…..
Mike and I found out we are going to be having a new Baby! Yep! Due date around the end of August, but Mike says that the baby has to wait until September to arrive. I am still very early on in the pregnancy almost 8 weeks- so now we just pray that everything goes right and healthy- whatever is God’s plan!! Mike says its gotta be a boy, Zaeda says its a boy and I feel like its a boy already, too. Interesting, we’ll have to see!
Zaeda is pretty sure that we should name the new baby either Yogo or Dental Floss. I have a feeling she’ll have a lot of ideas about what we can do and or say about the baby soon.
There are so many different "ways" to child rearing, that I thought I would show you how I approach it.
Enjoy!

Zaeda has entered the phase of imaginary friends. They sit with us, eat with us, talk with… Zaeda. It is pretty funny. However, the funniest thing is not that she has the imaginary friend. I am ok with that, in fact, I remember my first imaginary friend too. Zaeda’s imaginary friend’s name is JayMckenney. Yep. All said in one whole word, very fast, so we had to ask if it is Jamie Kenny, but no, she told us in No uncertain terms it is JAYMCKENNEY. The best part? JayMckenney is a girl, in fact, Zaeda’s little sister. Zaeda has informed us that this imaginary little sister has brown hair and blue eyes and is very sweet. Thought that should get a laugh, especially from THE Jay McKenney.

Today has been one of those days. Zaeda is currently dragging her daddy’s gym bag up to her room to do time out. For the 80 thousandth time in the last hour. Amazing, since she only spends two minutes at a time in time out. She trudges up the stairs yelling “SORRY MOMMY.” Which breaks my heart, and at the same time I am thinking, “Ok, this is actually good for her. She will learn valuable lessons and be a better human for it.” Yeah. Well.
She is talking so much now. Which is good, and bad. She is taking on rude tones, saying mean little things. I have already heard my first ” you’re a mean mommy.” She is only two. I thought that would come much later. On the other hand, She sings so sweetly now. She is also awesome with carrying on conversations and being a little sweetie while we are around others in public places!
So I was doing my normal morning reading and I saw this on the sidebar. I never look at the side bar stuff as it’s mostly ads and I like to mentally block them. This is not an ad though, this is a link to another article about lip balm.
Lip Balm you say?
Yes. What could be harmful about that? Well a magazine, Famous, is giving off free sticks of lip balm from manufacturer Softlips. The magazine is targeting the teen group of girls, 12-17 years old. Technically nothing wrong with that although I have some fundamental problems with the content…but that’s for another post. What makes this interesting is that the lip balm that Softlips puts in with the magazine is…
alcohol flavored!
“Michael…you HAVE to be kidding?!?!”. I wish I was. Famous claims that they are targeting the demographic of 18-34 year olds, but you and I both know know about those magazine towards the beginning of the check-out aisles…they’re aimed at our young girls.
I’ll let you read the article and decide. Am I totally off on this? Is there a little bit of understanding that I’m just missing? Tell me your thoughts here, I would love to hear them!
This was brought up to me by James…
First, read this: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/06/child.driver.chase.ap/index.html
Then, here is the email I recieved from him:
I guess what I find most interesting about this one is not that they found a drunk 11year old behind the wheel.. its this line specifically
?Duck declined to release the girl’s blood alcohol level but said a blood test at the hospital showed it was higher than .02, the legal limit for minors.?

Zaeda turned two on Friday the 22nd of June!
We had a great little party, thrown together, since she had already had one party and has another on the way this weekend! Crazy- three parties for a two year old. Yeah. Anyways, she had a blast with Lizzie ( who we had our first overnight with that night!)
Wonderfully, the little party and the overnight with Lizzie were both just awesome. I caught some great joyful shots of the girls playing together. They danced, played fairy princess, wore their tiaras and earrings and played with all of the new gifts that they got!
Then came the happy cake! Zaeda understands cake fully now. She understands that she will get cake at her birthday, she understands singing happy birthday ( which she enjoys singing to my mom and dad’s dog, Zootie) and she is great at blowing out candles!
She also understands that if she is covered in chocolate cake, she shouldnt run and try to slather it on adults …. however, due to the fact that she is two, she didnt really care that we thought she shouldnt. So she did. Fun was had by all.
Oh yeah.. you can also sorta see parts of our new house! hehe. I really will take some more pics of the new place really soon and put them up. It is starting to look presentable!

Today was one of those days. You know. Ugh. Zaeda woke up early and started throwing up. Well, it just went down from there. So puke and other stuff all day long. Then the fever kicked in. She began not keeping anything down. Well.. to make the story a bit shorter… we ended up at the ER. Our family doctor directed us there due to the fact that Zaeda didnt want to drink anything any longer and was becoming very lethargic. They gave her half of a magic pill, and Voila! No more barf. How nice. The fever, on the other hand, has not come down yet. So, if you could direct some prayers Zaeda’s way that would be great!
