Kirk points out a pastor down in Texas that has his head on straight when it comes to the Gospel and judging others. I’ve included a short clip of Joel on Larry King Live and I am just impressed by what I got was sincerity. I think he knocked this one outta the ball part!

Well.. since you asked…

Our buddy ole pal Isaac asked what I was doing at the same time Mike was doing all those things in his last post. Well, since I don’t know exactly what time he was doing each of those things it would be difficult. Plus today was not a very hectic day. However, I will try to do my best.

*Woke up at started the day out right..changed diapers on Zaeda and encouraged her to eat her waffle with peanut butter.
* Played with my new hairstyle ( cut ten inches off my hair yesterday for Locks of Love)
* Began preparing dinner in the crock pot ( roast, potatos, carrots)
* Started playing out on the deck with Zaeda
* Watched police serve our neighbors arrest warrants ( they arrested two people) it was pretty scary, because the people wouldn’t come out of their apartments and the police were yelling and calling backup.
* Ran several errands ( I wanted to get out of our house since I didn’t feel so safe)
* Met up with my mom and my grandma for lunch
* Took my Grandma home
* Met up with Zaeda and my Ma at her house
* Tried to trouble shoot an internet problem at my folks house
* Played hard for several hours. Took a break and read a Blueprint magazine ( new Martha Stewart line)
* brought Zaeda home for a nap
* Painted decorations for Toddler room at our new house.
* Made a crafty thing for my sister in law Arianna
* Began making preparations for mothers day
* Took Zaeda outside to play with neighbor child
* Served dinner to child and then to husband
WOOHOO!

How’s your day been?

Ξ April 27th, 2007 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Life |

Matt made a challenge and I’m responding. This is by far one of the most frustrating days I have had.

  • Started my day off right, with coffee, yogurt & granola.
  • Arrived at client site, proceeded to break the elevator.
  • Succeeded breaking the elevator.
  • Investigated why a backup wasn’t working. Solved.
  • Knock out several service tickets that had been on my list for the past month.
  • Finish up my initial deployment of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 for Sunset.
  • Received 1st call from New York, reset firewall.
  • Continued working on a project plan for a server migration
  • Received 2nd call from New York, spent 5 hours on the phone with them, and there is a major language barrier
  • Drive to NE Portland, do a site visit.
  • Drive to SE Portland, to turn on a computer.
  • Getting side tracked, fixed a printer instead, forgetting to turn on computer.
  • Drive back to turn on computer.
  • Inhaled lunch.
  • Read and commented on your blogs!

Office Talk

Ξ April 26th, 2007 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Computer Stuff |

I am continually amazed at the content George Ou spews out regarding IT. I just started reading him about 3 weeks ago and I am wondering what I have done before? His views are nearly identical to mine and it seems like he has a passion for educating people in information technology as I do. One post in particular, the Office Bloat post talks about how people are complaining about all the new features and how they are presented to the user. If you have seen the new Office 2007, you will know that it looks slightly different. What you probably don’t know is that the entire reason why it looks different is because of the feature monitoring that Microsoft did with previous versions of Office. If you want more information on how they do that (and also how they protect your privacy) then check out this Channel 9 video.

I’m not going to regurgitate what George said in his post, but I will say that we, as IT professionals have to start evangelizing this technology. I believe from personal experience that if people aren’t given motivation they become complacent and will just stagnate in regards to what they’re doing with technology.

Weekend Update

Ξ April 25th, 2007 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Computer Stuff, Life |

Well, this week has been a bit busy since I’m covering for another engineer who wanted to go on vacation (crazy, right???) so I’m basically at 2 client sites all day. And I have a server migration on this weekend to boot! But that doesn’t stop me from posting about my last weekend!

So if you remember correctly, I got a chance to head up to Seattle to hang with some good friends of mine. Now most people know that I am a “reformed” gamer, but I relapsed back for 3 days. The drive up there took about 3 and a half hours, Phil and I had lots to catching up to do. But the real fun started when we got there. See, my friend Dan has a 60″ wide screen high def (and I mean high definition as in 1080p) TV and has a Playstation 3 to go with it. Hook them up via HDMI and the quality is AMAZING. I didn’t know you could get that clear of picture.

So what do we do with a TV that great? We hook up a Playstation 2 game and play in a low resolution mode. Playstation 2 doesn’t support high-def so it bumps it down to standard quality which looks rather grainy on that TV. Why did we do this? It’s all about content. The game was awesome, all you did was fight the end “boss” guys…very light story, simple objectives, excitingly fun.

We stayed up playing till 5am (I kind of dozed off and on between 2am and 5am) on Friday. Woke up at like 9:30am Saturday and continued on the carnage! Phil & Dan have a long history with console games. I like them no problem, but they’re not my best choice. For me, the PC is where it’s at, and I invited them to get slaughtered in some Quake 3. During Saturday we played Command & Conquer: Generals, Quake 3, and Homeworld. From 9:30am to 3:00am we just continued on. We didn’t leave the house till it was time to go home…it was glorious!

We also got some good bonding time together. We talked about our walks with The Lord and how He has changed our lives from where we thought we would be to what actually happened. In the end, it was some much needed catching up with each other and we made an agreement to continue this and make it a scheduled event every year. I want to get together like this again in August…hopefully.
