Ahhh… How great it is to finally relax a bit!

So today was a mad rush to get everything accomplished that I needed to.  I am just going to do a quick rundown of what I really remember about today….

Two Toddlers

6 Stores

Too much driving

Numerous stores didnt have what I needed

” Don’t eat that”

“Please dont touch that”

” Look with your eyes and not with your hands”

” WAIT! I said dont touch that please!”

” NO NO NO get your mouth off that”

” If I said she couldn’t eat that does that mean you should try?… NO!”

” dont lick the cart… really.. that is so gross… please dont lick the cart.”

and my favorite…

“Oh please dont put the corndog stick in your nose.. that’s so dangerous!”

They were actually really wonderful girls today.. they were very well behaved. It just feels like it was a whirlwind day!

Now I am tired. I got home, wrapped everything the  girls napped, ate, played…. etc.

I am so ready for bed. Its only 5 pm.

Franco Is my Bestest Friend, Mommy

So we had a pet. For a day.  Not really a pet, but an animal nonetheless, and he made Zaeda happy.

A white pigeon landed on our porch and stayed around for a day and a half. We decided to name him Franco.  He was a homing pigeon ( he was tagged and everything.)   Zaeda was all excited and thought he would be ours forever.   He pooped far too much for him to be ours forever. I told her that he would have to fly home very shortly. But, she could watch him while he was staying at our house. We awoke today and Franco had not been back.  He must have flown home. Thank Goodness. There is a lot of pigeon poo on our deck now!   However, now Zaeda carries around “Franco” the imaginary bird. She says he is a pink penguin/pigeon and he is her bestest friend.   It felt awkwardly sad that my child says her best friend is an imaginary pigeon.

I am… *SCARED*

Last night I was at my moms and dads house to get Zaeda after work. They live in Corbett. Surrounded by woods. It’s way dark outside.  And ever since I went to see I am Legend I can’t help but associate the dark with zombie/vampires.   So I am loading up my car ( Thank goodness, Z is inside the house at this point)  and I hear this rustling in the bushes.  I stop. I hear a little more rustling and realize that it is coming from between where I am now standing and the safety of the house. ah crud. I am really in trouble now. The rabid zombie begins to growl, signaling that it truly wants to eat me.  I am now frozen in fear, and although it has only been three seconds at the most it feels like forever.  I decide that my only safe bet is to run for the house, which I do as the creature jumps out at me from the bushes.  OH MY GOODNESS… I STAND NO CHANCE… that is seriously what  I was thinking until my heart regained its normal pattern and  I began laughing at myself since it was only my granpap’s  chihuahua, Bandit.  Scary looking, yes. But not rabid zombie scary.   *whew- that was a close one*

We went to see I am Legend. Yep.  It was fairly good. I thought parts of it could have been better. I am usually one to be fine going to a horror flick, its how my mind changes it around later and makes it more scary in the long run.  Parts of the movie I put my fingers in my ears. I don’t really mind seeing things on the big screen. I know they are fake.  However, ever since I was a small child, when I hear things that are scary- scary screams, noises, rustling in bushes.. it FREAKS ME OUT!

Cute Pics to Share!

Well at least I look pretty happy even though throughout Christmas picture taking I felt like crud.

decemberpics 029  Zaeda, being naughty….. and… two seconds later…

Zaeda being “nice”  or… probably  thinking of ways to be even more naughty.

Zaeda keeps asking if she can learn to play the violin.  She loves to search you tube for violinists!  She is quite into all types of music!

I Do it For the Thrill of It

Ξ December 13th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Computer Stuff, Life |

Jay recently announced his love and appreciation for people he has had the privilege to know and I’m honored to be on that list. I too have had the privilege to work with him and others that are just genuinely in love with both Christ and His ministry. Jay said some kind words and me being my selfish self here, I wanted to take it a step further and explain the reasoning on why I do it.

Being the logical person that I am, I take a very pragmatic approach to IT. When it comes to ministry though, most of the time it’s dealing with relationships, something I’m not really good at. I struggle with relationships big time and requires me to just think differently. It takes work and effort for me to build relationships…just ask my wife.

But when it comes to seeing people succeed or more importantly, seeing Him succeed and being glorified, I feel encouraged. And if I can help out in anyway I can, I’m totally there. But the question needs to be asked:

How can I help ministries succeed when I’m not skilled in how they accomplish their goals?

Technology is impacting our lives more than anyone (save Jesus himself I suppose) could have ever imagined. There are so many people who are not using technology though as a tool to communicate and market the word of God that it is appalling. As younger generations integrate technology more deeply, the reasoning to connect with people using it becomes more clear. But everyone needs a helping hand, and that is what I try and provide.

Helping people accomplish their goals easier and then have them acknowledge that this is the power of technology, is what brings me the best joy ever.

It happens when you look at a user and there is a twinkle in their eyes, when they "get it" and think of how else they could use this to help either them or their team. It’s that "Ahhaa!" that I’m looking for.

We are given gifts for a reason. I just feel compelled to share mine with others. Technology is important, but what is more important is that we need to accept the fact that it is here to stay, and I believe ministry depends on it.
