Zaeda and Matthea Updates!

Dang. I hardly ever blog. How sad. It is time to update all of those who may still be reading even though I never update.

Zaeda is three and a half. She is amazingly quick and on the ball with everything. Mike and I have really started watching everything we say around her, due to the fact that she has a memory of steel and will not forget to let things loose at the most interesting times. She is always making us laugh and be amazed at the stories she tells and things she can understand.

* while watching the presidential inauguration of Obama, Zaeda heard the Lord’s Prayer being said and her eyes got huge and she began whimpering and said " Oh no no no… Mommy that’s the prayer we say when I am scared at night, do you think President Obama is scared right now?" it lead into an awesome time to develop Zaeda’s ideas about our president and government and help her understand how important the job is, and that yes, he was probably very scared at that point, for more than one reason.

* While watching news coverage about the Hudson river jet crash Zaeda heard the tv reporters saying that ferries were coming to save the people who were standing on the jet’s wings. Zaeda was so very excited and practically screamed "Will there be dragons there too?"  mistaking the word ferry for fairy.  It was all I could do to not break down laughing at that one.

Miss Matthea is already 5 months old!  I cannot believe how time is flying by!

She Loves to be up and on the go. This baby moves, and doesn’t ever want to stop moving. She can jump around for hours at a time. Amazingly, she has let us sleep 5-6 hours at a time, which was NEVER possible with Zaeda at this age.

Matthea is growing and putting on weight well now. She still seems small for her age group, but I think it is because she is long and muscular, not so much chubbiness on her little self. She weighs a whopping 14 pounds now. She has two teeth already in on the bottom, and she is working on two others on bottom as well. She bites hard and chews through her clothes. Odd child.  Oh yeah, she also chipped one of her first teeth. We will most likely be taking her to the dentist to see what we need to do about that very soon.
